ADiS4 – Modular Control System
Thanks to its design, the ADiS4 modular control system offers considerable modularity and flexibility for even the most demanding applications. The core of the system is the original two-bus communication between the CPU and the individual modules, which allows up to 64 expansion modules to be connected to a single assembly, with up to 16 signals per module. The speed of operation of digital inputs or outputs in the maximum assembly reaches 2 ms.
The mechanical design with a unique modular backplane built directly into the 35 mm DIN rail connecting the individual modules of the system is also worth mentioning. Adding another module, replacing it or removing it from the assembly is extremely simple. The entire mechanical concept is based on Phoenix Contact’s proven mechanical solutions.
Each expansion module can be removed from the assembly individually, without the need to disassemble the entire assembly. The input/output terminals on the modules use the Push-in technology, which allows the wires to be plugged into the terminals with one hand without the use of any tools. This leads to reduced assembly times of up to half compared to conventional screw or spring clamps. All expansion modules indicate the status of the bus and, in the case of digital signals, their status by means of LEDs.
The ADiS4 modular system is ready for the gradual addition of a portfolio of CPU units and expansion modules. The CPU units have an Ethernet interface as standard in the switch version and two slots for additional communication buses, which are configured from the factory. The operating temperature of the ADiS4 system is normally between -40 and 70 °C.
The ADiS4 belongs to the new generation of AMiT systems and therefore supports, among other things, advanced communications and security for data exchange with higher-level systems. Support for integrated web-based visualization directly in the control system is a standard feature.
