DM-RTU/TCP – Modbus RTU/Modbus TCP 2-way converter
The DM-RTU/TCP is a 2-way communication converter which can (depending on the selected settings) be used to convert MODBUS RTU from an RS485 interface to Ethernet MODBUS TCP or to convert in the opposite direction. This makes it easy to connect devices communicating via RS485 to systems using Ethernet.
The adapter allows you to connect:
- MODBUS RTU slave device to MODBUS TCP master control system
- MODBUS TCP slave device to a system communicating via MODBUS RTU.
This makes it suitable for upgrading existing installations to integrate devices with an RS485 communication interface into an Ethernet network.
The DM-RTU/TCP can also operate as a virtual serial port for a PC. Devices on the RS485 bus can be accessed by a computer via Ethernet as an additional COM port.
The converter can also be used to increase the number of control system serial interfaces via an Ethernet network, for example where it is necessary to connect a remote RS485 link without a native serial port on the control system
The converter can be configured via an integrated web interface which allows users to set communication parameters, run diagnostics, back up and restore the configuration or remotely restart the device. The converter is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail and is powered by 24 V AC/DC.
